Tri-County Hockey

2nd May 2025

The Tri-County Girls’ Hockey Tournament at Cookstown High School yesterday was a brilliant day for the Bush Primary School team. The girls played brilliantly throughout the group stages, securing five wins, two draws, and just one loss, which earned them a spot in the semi-finals against Orritor Primary School. The semi-final was a thrilling match that ended 0-0, leading to the nerve-wracking penalty run-ins. Although we narrowly lost, the girls should be incredibly proud of their performance, especially those who bravely stepped up to take the run-ins for the team.

A special shoutout goes to Ruby V, who was on fire with eight goals, and Ruby M, who added three more to our tally. A massive thank you to Mrs. McLean from Moneymore Primary School for organising such a fantastic tournament, and to the umpires from Cookstown High School for their support. For many of our girls, this was their last match representing Bush Primary School, and we hope they continue their hockey journey in secondary school. We’re so proud of each and every one of them!
