We are studying ‘The Famine in Ireland’ in school. As it is all centred around potatoes we decided to plant some of our own in the school garden. The raised bed was prepared by digging it over and making a drill down each side. The pupils planted a seed potato each into the soil. We covered them up and will now wait to see the shoots appearing. We are all hoping to take a small bag of potatoes home each to eat for tea!🥔
