Pumpkin carving in Primary 1! 🎃

26th Oct 2023
Today we had great fun scooping out the insides of a pumpkin and then carving it for the parade tomorrow! We recapped what we had been learning about our senses by touching, smelling and looking at the pumpkin. We thought of lots of interesting words like ‘slimy’, ‘sticky’ and ‘mushy’ to describe what it felt like. We then used our understanding of 2D shapes to cut triangles out of the pumpkin’s face. At the end we added vinegar, food colouring, fairy liquid and baking soda and enjoyed watching the mixture ooze out of the pumpkin’s mouth and nose!
